Wolvercote Lakes (Oxford) – Autumn walk – October 2016
On Sunday October 9th 2016 we walked around the Wolvercote lakes in Oxford, partly to experience the wonderful nature and partly to check a couple of benches that we installed a few years back. The images show that although the benches display the expected weathering they are in perfect condition. It is a requirement of The Oxford Preservation Trust that the benches are of the highest quality, are of FSC certified timber and require the minimum of maintenance. Our benches fulfil these requirements. The benches are made of European Oak and were given 2 coats of clear preservative to reduce the rate at which they turn green through growth of algae and lichens. The last 3 bench images are of the bench dedicated to Mr Viv Kirk who bequeathed the land to OPT. The benches should still be serviceable in at least 30 years time.
